We don't have the luxury of an Exchange 2007 testbed environment; however, we need to deploy an Exchange 2007 Edge Transport server. The Edge Transport server is installed on the server that will eventually serve this role in production. What we need to know is:

1. If we create an Edge Subscription and bring that into our existing Hub Transport server, will that disturb our existing email services (which consist of an Exchange 2000 front-end with an Exchange 2007 Hub Transport server)?

2. How can we test the new Edge Transport w/o having to shut down our existing front end? (We do have a couple of old domains we can use as test cases, but how would we need to alter our existing environment to use one of thems?)
