 Exchange 2003 Server SP2
Hi All, I am migrating my Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003. I manage to complete all of the steps to install Exchange 2003 server. The only steps I need is to move user mailboxes to the new server. My question is I'm planning on installing Exchange 2003 SP2 before I start moving mailboxes. Is there issues that may arise if I do this before moving mailboxes? Thanks, SD

Answer Wiki:
Is there any reason why you want to wait to move your mailboxes? I would go ahead and move the mailboxes and then upgrade to SP2, there's really no reason to wait from my understanding. I don't think it will make much of a difference if you do it afterwards either. I would check the Exchange Server 2003 SP2 overview here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/2003/sp2-overview.mspx

There are no special circumstances associated with migrating users before or after upgrading to SP2; however, if you do it beforehand then the users will not be impacted by an outage which makes for more of a seamless experience for them and one less black eye, if you will for you, your support organization and E2K3.
