Exchange 2003 public calendar drops specific user’s appointment after short delay
We recently hired a new employee, and we granted him publishing editor permission on an existing Exchange 2003 public calendar. He is able to access the folder, view entries from other employees and post appointments; however, the appointments that he creates disappear after a short period of time. We have approximately 20 other people that use the same calendar without this issue. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Answer Wiki:
Make sure all users who access this calendare have their permissions set to "edit own" and not "edit all" to rule out anyone targeting this person's appointments and deleting them on purpose.

If you’re using Outlook in Cached mode, ensure it is properly synching up it’s local ost file. Check the Sync Issues folder for errors. Also check the size of your local data under the tope folder of your Outlook (Mailbox – Name) right click on it, then select Properties and click on Folder Size and check the Local Data and Server tabs, then take a look at the file under: C:\Documents and Settings\USER LOGIN ID\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost. If this file is much larger then what the serve reports, close outlook, rename the file outlook.ost, then let it resync.

if you don’t know where your ost file resides locally, do a folder/file search for *.ost. Hope that helps.
