 Exchange 2003 OWA Certificate renewal
I need to renew the web server certificate for OWA on an Exchange server 2003 SP2. Unfortunately the server is also a domain controller with no local admin accounts. Attempts to renew the certificate fail for insufficient permissions even with domain admin accounts.

Answer Wiki:
Use a domain admin account to create a local admin account. I believe your bigger problem will be accessing the certificate authority if you haven't got the same account as was used to access it initially. Did you create a backup disk with account information? Did whomever did the original setup make a backup disk with the account information/certificate/credentials? That might help.

Was the certificate self-signed by this server or is there a Certificate Authority somewhere in the domain? Is this a public OWA server and was a certificate purchased from a company like Thawte or Geotrust? Have they been able to give any guidance on this process?

It was self signed by a CA on the network, in the same domain.
