 Exchange 2003 Databases
I just started at a new job, and the current Exchange 2003 server is low on disk space. I want to move the databases from SG1 which reside on shared disk space with 3GB of free space, to SG3 which has 100 Gb of free space. When I complete this task will I get that disk space back from SG1 or will it still be considered white space until a defrad is done. Cornell

Answer Wiki:
The white space is empty pages in the database itself. In order to reclaim it, you need to defrag it before or after the move.
