Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2007 problem with Vista Business
Cannot setup Vista users with Outlook 2007 mailbox with Exchange Server 2003. Get message " The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action" when trying to auto and manual connect to exchange server. when manual connect i input server name and mailbox name and click check name and then i get error message "name cannot be resolved......"

The computers are joined to the domain, Outlook 2007 is up to date. I have tried reinstalling outlook. Removing and recreating profiles.

The most confusing part to me is Win XP users have NO PROBLEMS at all with anything. Vista users have no problem at all when i install Office Outlook XP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

James

Answer Wiki:
Have you tried putting the fully qualified domain name? You can also may want to add the domain suffixes to the Vista network interfaces. At the command prompt, type nslookup emailserverhostname AND see what response you get. Also type your e-mail servers FQDN and see if it responds back with a valid IP.

Aqueacer0,

Thanks for the reply. I tried entering the FQDN with the same results. Also performing an nslookup with the server name did respond with a valid IP and the FQDN. So I am still having the same problem. THanks again!
