Exchange Server 2003 auto reply for helpdesk

We have exchange 2003. We would like to setup autoreply for helpdesk. When any user send an email to helpdesk, they will should get autoreply or acknowledgement email. If possible they should get the ticket num in the reply.Please let us know how to setup this in exchange 2003 or with any tools

Utilizing Outlook or OWA, you can configure the Autoreply message. However to add features like ticket number or such, you will need to utilize any 3rd party products like a Helpdesk Ticket System (aka Remedy, etc.).

    Try Spiceworks - it has a full help desk with e-mail integration - will send acknowledgment e-mails for opening - updating and closing help desk tickets - check it out at www.spiceworks.com

    We use RT (Request Tracker) by Best Practical Solution. RT is an open-source Linux based issue tracking application. That means it is FREE to install and use but of course you have to pay if you want support. It is a pretty flexible package. You might wanna give it a shot. - Symuser
