 Excel spreadsheet data refresh from AS/400 through Client Access Express.

I am creating Excel spreadsheets that are populuated with data from the AS/400. When I perform the refresh data option from inside Excel from my PC, it works properly. When I forward the spreadsheet to a user, the ODBC window pops up asking that the password be entered for my USERID. It should use the cached user USERID and password. I have changed the ODBC link from the users PC but the prompt still appears. Thanks in advance for your help.....

Did you use USER or SYSTEM DSN? It will prefer to use USER DSN, so everytime the same user login to windows, it will use the stored username and password

We are using USER DNS. Even if the user is already signed onto the AS/400, it prompts for USERID and password with my USERID as the default not the user signed onto the system.

Preferred setupis “SystemDSN” for shared connections. Otherwise every user has to do the setup on every machine they use.
