We've had a couple of users run into issues with Excel 03 not releasing a cell as if were in EXT mode. Problem is that when we press F8 it won't release it. ESC hasn't helped and it locks up the workbook so the only way to close it is through Task Manager. Running Windows XP Pro SP2 with MS Office 03

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Try a repair of office. If that fails, uninstall/reinstall the office suite.

Do you have Office updated to SP3? And is there any reason you cannot update XP to SP3 as well?

Unfortunately we are not able to Update to SP3 due to a business essential program that isn't compatible to it yet. We are working with the company to see how long it will take them to get it up and running with SP3. Until then we are stuck with SP2. Another thing to add, it works fine when using the keyboard, but once you click on the worksheet with the mouse it locks the cell as if in EXT mode. Tried exchanging the mouse a couple of times and with different kinds as well, such as USB and PCI. Tried checking the Scroll Lock as suggested from other forums I have read and still haven't been able to get it to work. Strange, especially when it doesn't happen all the time.
