i have written code to import information from several text files into a linked table. It works fine for a while, but eventually I always get an error about exceeding the maximum allowed locks. I do not want to change the registry - i would rather just not have any locks (because I don't need them).

Have you thought about unlocking it?

update: the verbatim error that comes up is: "File sharing lock count exceded"

also: it may be worth knowing that this code is ran from a form but the form is not linked to any recordset (the form is used as an interface to find the text files). However, the form does have the "no locks" property set.
