On a server, we are getting: Source: ESENT Category: Logging/Recovery Type: Error Event ID: 411 wuaueng.dll (1268) Log version stamp does not match database engine version stamp. Thus far, everything I have found relates to Exchange, but Exchange is not loaded on this server, though this server is a domain controller and global catalog and serving as a backup to the primary DC, and the error is not occuring on any of the other servers, even the primary DC. The error started after we installed WSUS on another server and started doing our updates using WSUS. The error event occurs in the Application log every 30 minutes. WUAUENG.DLL is related to Windows update, and is run under a SVCHOST process. This is a Windows 2000 server, and we have a mix of 2000 and 2003 servers as we slowly upgrade to 2003. The WSUS is based on a 2003 server. Both AD servers are 2000. Steve//

http://download.windowsupdate.com/v6/windowsupdate/redist/standalone/WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe.

You might try downloading and installing the latest agent. it appears that you have a mismatch here.

ve3ofa, The agent was not the problem. The log file was the problem. Here is how I resolved the problem. I have been search the net for a resolution using various search terms and I finally came across a documnt that discussed, amoung other things, Event IDs 427 and 413. They seemed to be similar to what I was getting, so I decided I would follow the instructions given for resolving the 411 issue I was having. You need to stop the Automatic Updates service on the machine. Then navigate to %windir%SoftwareDitributionDataStoreLogs and delete the edb.log file. Then you will need to restart the machine. The log will be rebuilt, and the error will go away. I tried just resarting the Automatic Updates service, but needed to restart the machine for this fix to work. Steve//
