Ethernet Not Available
I recently updated my windows because my c: drive quit working. I had to install windows on d: drive in order to get my computer to even work. I then updated my c: drive with windows update (I had to have windows on the computer in order to update my c: drive-c: drive was missing a system 32 file so could not read windows that is why I had to install a different version on d: drive, once I did that I could update c: drive with windows home edition). The problem now lies in the fact that some of my old files show, and some don't but I can see that the same amount of storage is taken up so I know they are there. The bigger problem is that my ethernet no longer shows in either version on both drives. Help please, I'm okay with computers but not great.

The problem between your C: and D: drives is a little hard to understand, are these physically separate drives or just partitions of the same drive.
For your ethernet card, try right-clicking on my computer and selecting manage
once there find device manager in the left window pane
Then look through the list to find network adapters, see if yours is on the list and right click it and select enable or update the driver, this might jump start it so that it can function again.
Then you should be able to work with it as before if you follow the prompts, this probably occurred because of the other issue that you were dealing with in updating your hard disk(s).
