ESX 4-0 server issue

Server Hardware
Hi
I am a newbie with respect to the server administration.
I have a ESX-4.0 server which has 4 disks and is running Adaptech Raid controller 5405.It does not have arcconf installed on it
From the blogs,I came to know that remote arcconf needs to be configured. But I am not able to find the version which is suitable for the controller and esx.
1. I wanted to know the procedure to deduct the disk which is bad and then replace that disk...
2. Also if I had to wipe the contents of the hard disk,is there a way to wipe the contents of the hard drive completely on linux..Procedure to do that also would be appreciated.
Thanks
Shiva
