Q:
Error opening emails from archive files in lotus notes
I have a client with the below configuration. This client needs very often to check archive files from CDs, DVDs and HDD.

Lotus Notes 6.5.2
OS Name: Microsoft Windows XP Professional
OS Version: 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600
OS Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation

One of the archive file size is 3.8GB (not sure if nsf files have a limit in size), and for many of the archive files when an email is open Lotus Notes gives the below errors:

(Files are opened from a DVD and from the HDD)

Window title: Lotus Notes
Error: Type mismatch on external name: UIMEMODOCUMENT"

Then the email opens and a new error occurs.

Window title: Lotus Notes
Error: "Variant does not contain an object"

The above error appears again when I close the email. This happen for any email with or without attachments.

o I have run the nfixup command on the 3.8GB nsf file, which finishes okay, as below:

C:\Program Files\lotus\notes>nfixup c:\temp\archive01.nsf
The ID file being used is: C:\Program Files\lotus\notes\data\XXXXXX.id
Enter password (press the Esc key to abort):

12/11/2007 09:11:31 AM Database Fixup: Started
12/11/2007 09:11:31 AM Performing consistency check on c:\temp\archive01.nsf
..
12/11/2007 09:15:02 AM Completed consistency check on c:\temp\archive01.nsf
12/11/2007 09:17:29 AM Database Fixup: Shutdown

o Opening the archive file in another PC does the same.

Can someone please give me some ideas how to correct this?

Your help will be much appreciated.
