Dear All, Friends i want to know how to show all error messeges using AS400. For example criticle messages, other messages. Regards, Tahir

Call DSPMSGD with the message ID of the message to see a specific one, or just DSPMSGD RANGE(*FIRST *LAST) to see all possible messages. Is that what you mean?

System error messages should by default go to QSYSOPR message queue, so if you are wanting to see actual errors which are occurring, monitor that queue. Other program messages may only go to the user who generated the error, unless specifically coded to send elsewhere.

because the message might be critical to me and not to you..

    ...show all error messeges... What do you mean by "show"? Do you want to retrieve messages and list them on a report? Do you want messages to appear on someone's workstation? It's not clear what result you are trying to reach. Can you explain more about it? If you supplied some examples, it might help. Tom

    Hi Tahir, I didnt get your requirement exactly, will you be clear on this.? That would be fine in suggesting answer for your question. Anyway there are some IBM supplies commands for sending messages to another workstations like SNDMSG, SNDBRKMSG. Do you want like message is to be displayed interactively when you aare working on system and if there were any problem during that time.? Pradeep

    I would also recommend a weekly IPL and check the QHST log for errors during that time. Critical errors will certainly show up there.

    Assuming you have tried the recommended recovery (IPL the virtual IO processor named in the second level text of the message) then the message indicates that you need to call your service provider.

    What the message means is that you have a problem that, in all likelihood, will require a service call to resolve.
