Error message when transferring an iSeries physical file
Dave wrote in with this question recently: I'm trying to transfer an iSeries physical file between an iSeries and a server. All is OK when I run things within FTP from the server. I've tried GET's and PUT's and the file is copied either way. However, when I try things from the iSeries and I enter the FTP command with the server IP address I get the following error: Connecting to remote host 128.1.0.77 using port 21.'Cannot connect to host 128.1.0.77 at address 128.1.0.77. Try again later.' Do you know what's going on? -- Debra Tart, associate editor, Search400.com

Answer Wiki:
Try putting single quote around the ip address ex. ftp '127.0.0.1' if that does not work try to ftp to the server from your pc using the IP and the host name. If the name works and the IP does not, then they mgiht be doing a virutal ftp server based on the host name. Or a port forward based on the host name. Ryan.
