I'm opening an item on someone's calendar that I have permission to access I receive an error message saying "Cannot open this item. Cannot open the free/busy information. The folder already exists." What does this mean and how can it be fixed?

Software/Hardware used:

Hi friend,

                Such
type of issues is raised in two situations:

1 – Either you use your calendar as a delegate resource

2 – Or you have limited access

So, you should resolve these cases to keep away this
reported error. You can find stepwise guide at Microsoft support:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930865

Thanks

I took a look at this - but it appears that your Exchange Administrator should take a look. There are a few good articles, microsoft has a couple of support postings at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2510607 and again at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958443, but they are somewhat advnaced, and if this a work environment, you likkely won't have the access you need unless you are the Administrator.

This might be happening if latest updates have not been installed the latest updates on the Outlook application or Exchange. So, the first step to resolve the problem is to install the latest updates. If it doesn’t help. Then, recreate the Outlook profile which is causing trouble.

    Hi

i have the exact error as vmkclb, however the fixes answers does not deal with this problem. The microsoft link talks about giving access to the mailbox which is not required. Correct access is given to the shared Calendar however when you try to open an entry in the shared calendar, the above message appears. Anyone knows a fix fir this? Outlook 2007 SP3
