Yes Wilson, I did try to google this error message, but I didn’t really find any information. Apparently you have ‘mad googling’ skills that I don’t have.
This error appeared on our test box when no users were signed on. We IPL the box every weekend just to coincide with our parent company’s downtime.
After further investigation, I believe this error came from job QZRCSRVS. After looking at the joblog for QZRCSRVS, message CPF0CC7 (Requested function not successful) was alson in the joblog. I believe this job might be an API. Will investigate further.
Thanks for your response.

You can check this thread here: http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l/2…. Although it doesn’t offer much more than what Wilson says, it does mention that someone had the same problem and it was related to License Management (Keys).
My advice would be to call IBM. After all, that’s why you have a hardware/software service contract.

Why Google a message when you can view it on the machine via the WRKMSGD command?
WRKMSGD MSGID(CPF0CBF)
BTW, IBM recommends you contact your service representative.

And why WRKMSGD when it lists the exact same thing I posted?
I asked this question to see if anyone had ever seen this problem before or could provide some insight. Thanks for being a smarta$$ and SORRY I ASKED!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, I have better and quicker resolution by Goggling for IBM and Microsoft problems (by far) than I do by searching the respective vendors’ knowledge bases.
Google does allow for some very creative search techniques if you exploit them.

What’s the context of the msg?
Does it appear from a particular application - from running a particular command
is it part of the IPL?
Appears overnight without warning?
this IBM Manual seems to be extremely relevant

ADMobius, despite your rude and inaccurate observation, I wasn’t attempting to be a ’smarta$$’, but was simply making an observation.
Worry not, in the future I’ll be certain to avoid any queries you may post.

Well say Splat. Admobius, Splat was just trying to be helpful and I guess you just took it the wrong way. But going back to the issue… When I encounter this type of situations I call IBM right away. They have ALWAYS been very, very helpful when I’m unable to find or get an answer on the web. So, my suggestion is for you to place a service call with IBM and good luck.

Some people mention that it might have to do with license keys or license programs. Hope this helps.
