Error in the installation of SQL Server 2005 (64-bit)

We are trying to upgrade our installation to SQL Server 2005 (64-Bit) Edition, but we cannot get past the following error reported in the Event Log:***********************************

We have downloaded the native Client separately to no avail, and the file is in the ISO but it does not have the _x64 suffix. Do you have any idea what might be wrong?
