I get this message quite often. You must check for mail before sending. It is then returned as undeliverable. Why??

Software/Hardware used:
Windows 7 Outlook 07

Why?? Because you have to "check for mail before sending". Basically, the checking for mail causes sending your account and password to the server. It won't let anyone access your e-mail without authentication. That lets the server know that your connection is approved for it to be sending e-mail on your behalf. Once it knows, that it will accept e-mail through your connection to send to others. You might configure Outlook to check for e-mail automatically as soon as it starts. Tom

Probably, the server uses the pop before smtp method for outgoing server security. Then when u check for new mail, ur username / pass is passed to the server and the authentication is valid for a period of time, generally 10 minutes. Plz do as following if it helps u: tools > account settings > email accounts tab, just double click on the account then click more settings and look on the outgoing server tab and see the status of "Log on to incoming mail server before sending mail".
