Have you looked into the JOBLOG and any secend level help text? If you would and then give us that information we may be better able to assist you.

First, you shouldn't be using /QDLS for this. Second, is '/QDLS/folder1/folder2/INV20.CSV' the actual path, or is it only an example path that you used to show us the problem? If it's not the actual path, please show us the actual path that you're trying to use. Error 3486 is a path name length error. Without seeing the path, we can't guess say what the problem might actually be. Best answer is not to do this in /QDLS. Do it in a directory under /root, then use CPY to copy into a /QDLS folder (though even that should be avoided). Tom

I believe that for QDLS and its subfolders you can only have 8 characters in front of the suffix. Carolyn

Carolyn has the answer if that's the actual path. /QDLS is an old DOS 8.3 file system. The names are limited to eight characters, and extensions are limited to three characters. That's one of the reasons why its use should be discouraged. (There are other reasons.) You can't create a document named IB20110325.CSV in /QDLS. Tom

Rpgle400tech, is there any reason you can't create the target directories in the IFS?
