Error creating a user account – can it be changed?
Hi earlier on the year I created 100+ new accounts. On one of them I got the logon name wrong by one character. We use W2003 Server & XP clients, roaming profiles & My Documents are redirected. I could of course just change the account name but then I'd also have to do the same with the profile & the redirection & I'm not sure this will work. What's the best way of sorting this please?

Answer Wiki:
Unless you have a program such as Hyena that will change all of it for you when you change an account name then yes you will need to manually change all to be correct. But, one better way to do it is when you redirect say redirecting to //servername/sharename/userjoe you should redirect to //servername/sharename/%username%. This way no matter what the username is it will redirect to the correct folder name, as long as you have renamed the folder to match the new username.
