This could be a few things. It could be a permission issue and/or dns issue. Are you logging in as an adminstrator on the VC which should be part of the domain?

You may also need to run netdiag /fix and/or ipconfiig /registerdns.

    I agree. It sounds like a permission/dns issue. Also, I read on another forum that you might need to check if the following registry keys exist, and if they do, delete them: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESAMSAMDomainsAccountAliasesNames__vmware__ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESAMSAMDomainsAccountUsersNames__vmware_user__ As always, be careful when modifying the registry (backup). You might want to provide more details (OS, Vmware product being installed, etc).

    Hi, Thanks for the help . I could install Vmware 7.0 today. I reboot the system. I also checked the registry entries for the follwoing. After reboot these entries were not there. Regards Venuka
