Q:
ERP data models / CA SAPHIR
ERP
Is anyone using the Computer Associates product called SAPHIR to view the data models in an ERP system? I'm specifically interested in SAP, and the data modeling tool ERwin. Please comment on usefulness, performance, features you like, difficulties.

We use Saphir to extract data model information from SAP. It has proven invaluable in tracking 'customer' work and keeping up with documentation and intent of design. It will also aid in understanding of master data (customer, material, organization). We export from Saphir into ERWIN and then print the dictionary and graphicals from there. The newest release of Saphir is much better. It also extracts the definitions stored in R/3. Any specific questions you would like to ask?
