I am not sure how to answer from what you said because the information given doesn’t seem to match my experience. Let me ask some questions.
Are you new to this McAfee product? Have you had a chance to read the documentation provided with the software and does what it says match your experience?
McAfee’s ePolicy Orchestrator product has a two paned window rather like Windows Explorer. When you say “right click the repository” which window are you in and where exactly did you right click? I don’t get “new window from here” on any of my context menus. It has been awhile since I used 3.0.2 (I have 3.5 now. Any reason for you not to upgrade to 3.5?) but usually when I select (left click) something in the left window any related details show up in the right window, though sometimes it is slow, being Java used via http.
Is this concerning the master repository (should be created when ePO is installed) or a distributed repository (manually created after installation)?
Are you using the console on the machine where you have installed ePO or are you using a remote console?
You say you did an upgrade. How many users are involved? With only a few users it might be worth uninstalling everything, doing a new install and creating a new database.
Have you installed the relevant ePO patches for 3.0.2? Patch 8 is the latest comprehensive patch.
Do you have a tech support agreement with McAfee? They have specific MER tools (Minimum Escalation Requirements) that will gather information on all aspects of the machine, the OS and the ePO installation which can then be e-mailed to them for analysis. I have found them to be helpful and good at finding answers.
I could go on but, as with most questions in the forum, there are so many possible causes that we need to get as much configuration detail as can be provided. Otherwise, we can write books worth of stuff and not help much. Hmm! I could be a world famous author!
