End Program - explorer.exe
One more problem was there few days back...It was taking minutes to delete even small files/folders in windows explorer...but it is ok now.
Any advice on this would be highly appreciated.
Thanks

hello (-:
What are you using this for and how many separate programs load at startup? As this is a server(?) is it firewalled and protected? Does it use networked assets like printers, scanners, databases… ? Are you saying that, with ALL proper precautions against outside interference in place and being a completely clean, up to date setup that was working fast and fine until a few days ago? and nothing attached to it that you dont know is working as it should? Are you networked as you shut down? Give me more… (-:

Hello Mark
This server is in a small office. This is in a work group. This is used for sharing internet, files and printers. We generally shut this down after all computers are off. Only few programs started during start up including MSN messenger. Everything was fine few days before.
Now one more symptom is … it takes hours during disk cleanup, chkdsk and never completes.
Thanks

If disk cleanup and/or CHKDSK do not complete, you are probably looking at a disk problem. Schedule a CHKDSK before you leave for the night, then restart the machine for it to run. Let it go overnight to see if it goes to completion. If it completes, look in your event viewer for errors that may have been found. If there are errors, run it again the next night, until you get no errors. If you still get errors after a few runs. Get a good backup of he drive(s)and get a new drive in there and the data moved over to it.
