Good Afternoon,

I am new to this website, my company just brought in a in-house exchange server, I was in charge of some of the project. moving .psts, creating accounts etc. my manager who is often out of the office, i moved his .pst file onto the server, and when he logs into his webmail only his mail folders appear with no mail items being displayed inside. His setup, is a bit different he uses a laptop, and goes to the different locations, sometimes he doesnt use his laptop and he strickly uses blackberry.....but on his laptop, the same issues happens his folders appear but no items inside, does his laptop need to be all the time in the office, or is this a issue with rdp over http.

PST files on the network is not supported. They must be on the local computer. PST files are also not accessible in OWA. The OWA agent has no method of accessing those files as they are local on the user's computer.

This is true, and it depends on what he means by "moved the PST to the server". As Dwiebesick says, you can't "move a PST to the server" with an Exchange server. Now if he imported the pst in outlook and thereby all the email that was in his PST is now live in the mailbox on the Exchange server, that is a different story and it would not make sense that he cannot view it on OWA. The curious part that makes this question confusing is that he says he CAN see the folders in webmail, but nothing is in them. Now how does that happen if the PST is still on the local PC? I would like to know what is meant when he says he "moved the PST to the Exchange server". I think that would help us solve the mystery here. I know you can exmerge a PST to an exchange mailbox using EXMERGE in outlook 2000 and 2003, but I have not yet investigated if EXMERGE is still available in Exchange 2007. Anyone know? Was that by chance the process used to "move the PST to the Exchange server"?

I think you may not have your exchange set up properly. You really should not have hav pst files when you use exchange. Exchange should contain your mail box and if you enable use cached Exchange mode, you will have a OST file.

I did not follow exactly what was done when you said your managers PST file was moved to the server. The PST file should not exist. Once the exchange is properly setup and running, (sending and receivig bot external and internal email) you would setup Outlook to connect to the <a href="http://Exchange.us" title="http://Exchange. " target="_blank">Exchange.us</a>ing an Exhange connector and not POP3. Once you have the email setup, you would IMPORT his PST file which would place his old email in to Exchange.

If you can give more details on what acturally was done, we can give more assistance.
