Answer Wiki:
For a super market you don;t need to have a specialised Data center rather a good server room can serve the purpose. In a super market you basically need a good server any HP DL series can be used, with a 24 port Cisco (or any) Switch, an internet connectivity and Cash registers (IBM) with touch screen can be useful. As far as software is concerned check the local market as after sales support is very important. The ANSI EIA/TIA 942 standard defines how to build out a data center but I don’t that’s what you need. It still has good info nonetheless that can apply to a much smaller operation.
