Employees who need to connect using POP3 using Microsoft Outlook. These employees are unable to send outgoing messages
We just recently installed Microsoft Small Business Server and migrated most employees to it successfully. Most of our employees connect via Outlook using Microsoft exchange. However, I have few employees who need to connect using POP3 using Outlook. These employees are unable to send outgoing messages. Any ideas what are we missing? We checked the set up through Server Manager. POP3 is set to port 110 for incoming messages and SMTP default port of 25 is enabled.

Answer Wiki:
Hi, Can you check one of the employees accounts and ensure that the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" is checked. You can find this option in Tools>Email Accounts>View or Change>Change>More Settings>Outgoing server. Pretty simple but caught me a few times :) Regards Ross
