Q:
EMC PowerPath issue
I have an an issue where PowerPath only displays one path even
though 2 exhist. The san is showing both connections.

Any suggestions

You can try: "powermt enable hba=<hba_dev_name>" to get the HBA to be recognized by PP.

You can also run "powermt check" and see what it comes back with.

Finally, I seem to recall PowerPath only enabling one path if you have it installed in unlicensed (basic failover only) mode, but I might be wrong on that.

If you have PowerPath, it probably means you have EMC storage; if you have EMC storage, you probably have a support contract. Search through PowerLink or open a support case. Their support is usually really helpful.

We've seen this in situations where attached fiber ports have changed. PowerPath did not recognize the new path even though the switch and the array saw the HBA down the new path. Personal experience and PowerLink both lead us to reboot the servers in the end. That resolved it with no further issue.
