Outlook 2003 lost email
We have a user that is not receiving certain emails. It doesn't happen all the time. He emails himself an itinerary from out Calypso system. I checked our Symantec Brightmail and it shows that it went through without a problem. I also checked the Exchange System Manager and that shows the emails have been delivered to his mailbox store. I ran an advanced search of his mailbox and I can't find the email. Does anyone have any ideas of what could have happened to the email. When another user emails themselves the same itinerary they receive it. We have them running MS Outlook 2003 on WinXP SP3. Our Exchange is also 2003. Appreciate the help.

Yes I have seen this before first check the junk mail folder.

Iif it is still not there check to make sure that email marked as junk is not automatically deleted. There is a setting for this in your Outlook desktops. I am sure it can also be applied or disabled via group policy.

But lets check here:

Outlook > Actions >Junk Email > Junk Email Options > remove the check on the box that say “Permanently delete suspected junk email instead of moving it to the junk email folder”.

And finally if that does not fix you up it has to be a rule that is doing it. Check there and if all else fails export the email delete the mailbox recreate it and reimport the messages.
