Email still forwarding after user has been deleted

Lotus Domino Server 5.x

A user had forwarding set up on their address book entry. Sunsequently the user was deleted from the Address Book. After they were deleted the email continues to forward. I need to stop this forwarding.

I have tried recreating & deleting the user without the forwarding enabled.

Check in the Address book for the person being forwarded to. In their person document under "User name" look for the email address for the "forwardee".

Yes, Lotus Notes 5

The problem is that the person no longer exists in the name and address book. If I create the person again the mail goes to their mail box, after they are deleted it forwards to the forwarding address that existed originally.

I can’t have the name and address book filling up with ex-employees.

I think the person document of that particular user is not properly updated on all the servers on that domain. After removing the forwarding address from the person document, the notes will not route mail to the forwarding address

There is only one domain. And there is no person document. The person document for one particular user was deleted in 2005, yet the mail continues to forward. It’s a weird one.

Then could you please check in the address book of some other domain of the organisation, whether it has the entry for the user. Without the person document entry, the notes will not route the mails
