yes, you can configure your gmail, yahoo accounts in your outlook (recent version will work better) by configuring the smtp and pop3 server for downloading and sending mails through your outlook account.

I prefer using IMAPP version of gmail for incoming emails and smtp for outgoing, the settings are pretty simple, in your outlook select IMAPP
for incoming use the following setting
imap.gmail.com
and for outgoing setting use the following
smtp.gmail.com
