Answer Wiki:
yes, you can configure your gmail, yahoo accounts in your outlook (recent version will work better) by configuring the smtp and pop3 server for downloading and sending mails through your outlook account. Detailed instructions for doing so with Outlook 2007 are at: http://www.living-with-outlook.com/gmail-outlook.html and for Outlook 2010 are at: http://living-with-outlook-2010.com/emailaccounts/2010/08/gmail-outlook-2010-how-to-configure-outlook-for-gmail/ Use them and you should be up and running in minutes.

You don’t mention which version of outlook you are using, but if you check here you should be able to find instructions for whichever version you would like to set up.

I prefer using IMAPP version of gmail for incoming emails and smtp for outgoing, the settings are pretty simple, in your outlook select IMAPP

for incoming use the following setting
imap.gmail.com

and for outgoing setting use the following

smtp.gmail.com
