Email Notification on IDOC Posting Error
How would I go about receiving an email when a Purchase Order IDOC posts with an Error 51 code in 4.6 SAP? The purpose would be to automate the Purchase Order process by allowing POs to flow freely into SAP from the GENTRAN EDI system without having to check transaction bd87 to ensure that all POs were processed without error.

Hi!
Unfortunately I don't have SAP available to check, but as far as I remember, when posting iDocs there is possibility to raise the WF event that will take care of automated processing, including e-mailing and other error processing.
For most of iDocs, there are already standard WF scenarios defined, you can find them either via customizing or browsing through source code.
If you don't have standard scenario, then you need to create user exit or, in worst case, create your own e-mailing job.

You can specify an EDI Administrator in the EDIADMIN table to be notified of any errors.
