    Hi colette7me,

You received the email from us because at some point you registered to use our NotebookReview.  How long have you been having log-in issues with your computer? Can you tell us a little more about what happens when you try to log on?

i have been hacked into for years, have tried to stop it by using different programs, but, not long after it starts again....
i am able to log-on now, but, have gone through a lot of laptops & pc's, they just end up fouling up so much they are unuseable.
my curser flies around on it's own, certain web pages/sites i open seem to be more interesting to whomever is doing it?
i think also i may have open connections i dont know how to change? thanx

i dont know how to change?

In that case, you need to take the PC to a qualified PC repair or service shop. Have a professional look at the system and give you an opinion. It can take a couple years to learn details of PC system maintenance.

What kind of anti-virus software are you running? How long ago was the last database updated? If you keep getting these issues, keep track of the websites you visit. There are a lot of shady websites out there that can cause all kinds of problem. Some install key loggers on your system and that basically let them get into an site you can under your profile. Is this a personal PC or a work PC? If work PC, talk to your security admin. What OS are you running? Windows XP, Windows 7 or other system.

A reasonable Anti-Virus (AV) program is a good start. Good practices for maintenance of the AV product takes some effort. I've seen too many systems that were set up with good AV, good anti-malware, automatic updates, auto-update for Windows, etc.; and then saw the same system back in the same unusable condition six months later.

Too often it's poor practices that defeat pretty much every defense that's configured into a system. Every piece of advice and offer of instruction can be countered by some questionable install that instructs the user to "...Disable your AV before installing."

For many home users, the answer might be to switch to iOS or some other similar advice. The real alternative is to put effort into actually learning about the platform of choice. Otherwise it's too close to certain that problems will continue.
