Email Enabled Public Folder
I have an emailed enabled public folder that will not receive email from outside our network.  Emails from inside our network are delivered to that folder.  I have client permissions for the anonymous user are set to Contributor but it still does not work.   The Exchange SysAdmin (me) and the outside sender will eventually recieve and NDR that " Could not deliver the message in the time limit specified.  Please retry or contact your administrator.  <servername.domain #4.4.7>"..  Any ideas?

note in window 2000 native mode spport automatically enabling

I know how to mail enable a public folder and have read all the tech docs I could find to be sure I did know what I was doing. The problem is that all external email does not get delivered to the email address that is enabled on this Public Folder. NDRs are returned to the senders after the 2 days that I have configured in MS Exchange. I have found that all of these emails are sitting in the Local Delivery mail queue on the FrontEnd MS Exchange server and are never getting delivered to the BackEnd MS Exchange Server.

I’ve had similar issues and the virus/spam software on the Exchanger server turned out to be the culprit. Have you tried to do any message tracking? What about errors in Event Viewer that occur around the time the message should be delivered?
