Email Alert from Exchange 2003 to BlackBerry without BES?
Hi Everyone, A simple question with hopefully a simple answer. I'm running exchange 2003, but am not running a blackberry server. I have my own personal blackberry, which is not associated with my domain. Is there a way for an alert to be sent to my personal blackberry when a new email arrives in my domain account? I don't want to forward the mail due to potential sensitive company info. I'm looking for an email or even a text message to be generated to say-Hey, check your email. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer Wiki:
Do a quick search for email notification software. This is cheap and sometimes free software that will run in the background of your computer checking your email periodically. Once a new email comes in it will send you an sms message.

Keep in mind the notifiers usually only work with aol, yahoo, msn and the like, not exchange mailboxes. They are designed for POP3 accounts.

I think I’m looking for something more server side realted on the exchange box. Possibly a rule or something of the like that would simply send an alert message to my personal device. Having something run on my local computer would be helpful if my pc was on, but wouldn’t be useful in the evening when my pc is off.

The exchange server does not have the capability to do this in Exchange 2003. You can set up server rules in Exchange 2007 using transport rules, but this is not available in Exchange 2003, sorry.
