Answer Wiki:
Lotus Notes 8.x introduced the "Recent Contacts" view in your contacts db. Any email you send to or receive from should be added to this view as long as the preference is not turned off. To verify go to File -> Preferences -> Contacts - Make sure the box that reads "Do not automatically add names to the Recent Contacts view" is unchecked. This will make your regular contacts as well as recent contacts available for type-ahead. HTH, Derek

Just so I’m clear, you want the address of the sender of every email you receive added to your address book? Regardless whether the email was solicited or not, if you know the person or not, even if it’s spam, junk, …………? Is that what you are asking?

You can right click the option to move the recent contacts to your address book.
Also, if you don’t see names being added to recent contacts, then it may be disabled. Check the preferences for your address book.

This is managed also in the NOTES.INI with this line to switch off
DisableDPABProcessing=1

This just an information, in case of you use a client V8 with a previous release of template.
Cause in that case, you don’t have access to this option in Preferences !!!
