easy way to automate uploading data from a word document to a spreadsheet?

Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Excel macros, VBA, Visual Basic for Applications

I have a spreadsheet to verify datafields for. This needs to test for example state all the valid entries. I do not want to save off a spreadsheet form of the template i am testing one for each data value I need to test. Is there an easy way to create many spreadsheets off of a data file I create in word or .txt for the data to fill it out with?

I believe you can, I do this often from the scripts I create.

You can import a Comma Separated Value (csv) or Tab Delemited document via the file/open dialog in excel.

Thanks for the help.
i was thinking after talking with a coworker that I might just use the WinRunner automation tool we have with the spreadsheet being my System under test. i had not thought about the csv import that might be even easier.

Hi Jlees, I have been busy on other things and just now getting back to this. Can you please send me more information on the easiest way to do this. I want to have several files with the same data format but a little different data and be able to quickly import them to the spreadsheets.
Thanks
Julie
