I am running backups across a 1GIG ethernet circuit between two remote sites. There are Exagrid servers at both ends. The exact error message I get is "E3406 GTHBACKUP1 04/21/2010 04:00:48 AM 3414 20 Unable to read file. (FILE=\10.129.10.78togS0013655.CTF, EC=The specified network name is no longer available.) " This has been happening for over a month now.

Actually, Charlie, E3406 is "Unable to read file", but not necessarily because of a sharing violation, as in this case, the reason is: "The specified network name is no longer available". I did a quick Google search and saw that most of the times this kind of error is related to access security/permissions. The specific reason "The specified network name is no longer available" was mentioned once as being caused by a password change on the account being used to access the file.
