Duplicate Active Directory account, what is -EFE?

what is -EFE? when there is a duplicate user in Server 2003, Active Directory, one of the accounts will disable and the account logon name is switched or marked as "$DUPLICATE-EFE". What does the attribute or flag "-EFE mean?
