The entry level or p05 tier Power6 machines do not support Twinax devises.

The Twinaxial workstation controller requirements topic in the i 7.1 Information Center shows that support exists even after 6.1.

The question would be whether or not any hardware system that you move to would have a twin-ax controller. Also, if you do any software development, you’ll want to begin thinking about which development tools you’ll license — local system tools or networked PC tools (or both).
