 DSP02 on HMC
On the HMC of our 9408-M25 V5R4, the 5250 display is DSP02. In the past, I'm almost positive that it was DSP01. Two questions: 1) will it being DSP02 (running in QCTL) cause any problems for a BRMS system backup (restricted state)? 2) is there a way to get this back to DSP01?

Answer Wiki:
Verify if DSP01 was somehow renamed to DSP02: WRKDEVD DSP0* to list all If only DSP02 exist, take option 5 to display the Port number and Switch setting. Both will be 0 if it was DSP01 in which case you can take option 7 and rename it back to DSP01. If both settings are not 0, then recreate DSP01.

DSP01 is assigned to CTL02 address 0,0 – status: vary on pending
DSP02 is assigned to CTL04 address 0,0 – status: signon display when I had the HMC session running. After I terminated that session, it shows vary on pending too.

As regards to BRMS unttended Backup, it should have no impact whatever your Console display is called.

I do checks on QUSRBRM/Q1AMONQUE to check if the console monitor for BRMS is started. If it is Ok I submit the backup procedure to *CONSOLE.

This uses the console device rather than the Jobq of QCTL. In my procedure the console needs to be logged on and BRMS console monitor has to be started.
