DSNTEP2 (aka SPUFI in batch) is causing problems for my extract JCL. How do you get rid of the SPUFI-like column headers from the output datafile produced by DSNTEP2? I don't have ANY experience with REXX, so an example would be appreciated. Jon

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Hi Jonty,

Don’t use tep2. Use DSNTIAUL with the SQL parameter. No header rows will be created.

just select * from table

=========================

a little clarification… TEP2 is not SPUFI in batch. TEP2 is an entirely different program. SPUFI is only used via ISPF. DSNTEP2 is a sample program supplied with DB2 that we all rely on. But it is not SPUFI.

    UPDATE: Following a LOT of testing of ideas, I’ve developed a 2 stage FILEAID process to remove the SPUFI-batch headers, SQL query text AND the blank lines from my DSNTEP2 output file.
