You need to explain what you mean by "drives appear, but are not correctly organized." Do you mean that your boot drive is not the C partition?
What do you mean by "the full install 'look'"? Have you checked the device mananger to ensure you have not yellow splats and all your devices are properly recognized?
Do you have your system setup in a RAID configuration? If so, what RAID are you using?
For the floppy drive seek error dell tech support says its "Faulty or improperly inserted diskette, incorrect configuration settings in System Setup program, loose diskette/tape drive interface cable, or loose power cable."

Got the NTFS issue fixed. It's all NTFS now. Just not organized.

Last big prob. left today....while POST, screen shows "Diskette 0 seek failure" then, "Primary disk 1,Not Found".
I can F1 past those, and it boots. I got a brand new XP install disk, and the full install "took".
Drives appear, but are not correctly organized - I can do that.
Sizes and capacities are back - just not in order where they need to be. But, are finally being SEEN.

Those errors above are likely within BIOS, drive config., or where I chg'd settings in setup. Just lost now - how to go back and correct without ruining work that succeeded thru today.?
Any suggestions?

Right-click MY Computer and select Manage. Go to Disk Management. You should see your drive in the right pane showing your current partition and the free space. To use the free space you will have to create a second partition. Right-click the free space and you will see your options. If you don't see the free space then I would check the SATA drivers.
