    It most often means Day Of Year, and I've seen it mean the same in Javascript, Windows Powershell and even RPG. But I've also seen it mean unusual data elements in Linux scripts such as Division Offset Y-axis (along with "dox" which should be obvious). Context can make a large difference. -- Tom
