 Domino server freezing
I have lotus 5.0.7 installed on windows 2000 server SP4. recently the domino server freezes and stops responding and I can only restart it by killing its process and relogging or rebooting. No messages are displayed but windows continues working fine. no reaction from domino to the keyboard or mouse events. Any ideas?? Thanks in Advance. NHL

Answer Wiki:
I guess it was a known issue in 5.0.7. Also, have you tried typing the commands on the server console, to check if it responds. How often does it stop working ? Initially we had a similar issue and noticed that it happens, during the back up process.

1) have you checked if the console has the “quick edit mode” checkmark removed ?
2) You report that only domino seems to freeze, not other windows processes. Have you checked with taskmanager how much CPU domino tasks (n*-tasks) are using?
3) Server stops responding: is that including stop responding to clients? Or just the console ?

Check that your notes log isn’t overfilling the drive on which your Domino data resides. A particularly busy server can develop a huge log that cripples server performance.
