We have Lotus Domino Version 6.5.2 on a new IBM server. We had it running for about a week. We received the following errro message when I tried to start the Domino service. Unable to recover DB "names.nsf", "log.nsf", "events4.nsf", "busytime.nsf", "admin4.nsf", Panic, transaction log is damaged. Also got the error "NSD is running". What do we do to recover? BK

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Try turning transaction logging off. Remove the INI file line and restart the server TWICE.

Your server log file log.nsf has grown too big, maybe because you've selected verbose logging for something (this can be corrected in the notes.ini file). Rename log.nsf to log.old and restart the server and it will generate a new log.nsf. If you like, you can send me an extract from the log - just a few hours' worth would be enough - and I'll see if I can identify the problem. It may help to rename names, events4, busytime and admin4 in the same way. Otherwise itr sounds like you need to uninstall and do a clean reinstall.
