Q:
Domino - 3rd party archivers
Is anyone using POP3 to retreive emails from a Domino journal, using "remote" journaling? The doc indicates the db for remote journaling is to be a "mail-in" database. We created the remote journal with the "mailing list" db. Journal works fine, but could not POP3 to the DB. IBM/Lotus support indicated that POP3 can not be used to access a mail-in db. Wondering if we should just use the mail journaling template, and define it in the mail-in database documents. BTW - we use "local" journaling at the time. Just trying to find a way to get the journal docs to a 3rd party (Jatheon). We need to retain the orignal headers of the email so that Jatheon can "forward" emails to a 3rd party achiver as well.

I'm interested in knowing if you found an answer or solution to this question. Ideally I'd like to use POP or IMAP to get the data into a 3rd party archive.

Alternatively, if I could send the archived message out via SMTP but I'm guessing I'd need a 3rd party tool for that if one even exists.

I suppose I could write my own Extension Manager plug-in but that seems like a lot of work for a something I'm sure someone else has figured out.
