It may also depend on what country you are in and where the registrations are registered. I have had very good luck with www.register.com. I have also purchased SSL Certificates through them and their partnership with Geotrust. It may be a little more expensive to use Register.com but their customer service is good.

I use <a href="http://GoDaddy.com" title="http://GoDaddy. " target="_blank">GoDaddy.com</a>….I loathe their check out process - too many extras they try to sell you on and too much info to figure what’s what - but otherwise good service.
